Source
The source material, which is our content, connects us to our common story. Together, we will examine the major themes in De La Salle's life. The source material may be an article, document or even a video. Whatever the format, there will be two things that they share: they will link us the the founder's story and set us on a path of reflection on our own part of this ongoing journey.
Approximate time: 1-1 1/2 hours.

Welcome to Lasallian Formation Online
Each module follows the same basic format. There will be three steps in each Module: Source, Reflection, and Dialogue. Each Module will have this format. Each module has two parts; one for the fall and one for the spring. Each semester will require 3-5 hours of interaction.

Reflection
The reflection connects you to the foundation story. How are your experiences similar or different than those of De La Salle? The reflection will address specific prompts depending on your role as a Lasallian: a teacher or staff member in a ministry, a board member, a retired person, a Brother or a person considering a Lasallian Vocation. Formation is universal and ongoing. Some people will choose to reflect in writing; others will reflect with art or music. The point is that your reflection is articulated and shared.

Discussion and Dialogue
Our association demands the support of others with whom we share the call as a Christian educator. We sincerely hope that this discussion occurs within your ministries, weather in large groups or small. We also know that sometimes that time restraints or conflicting responsibilities might prohibit a physical presence at a discussion. We also have heard through focus groups that people would like the opportunity to discuss with people in other ministries or with people of like responsibilities. To that end, there will be opportunities to join on-line discussions. The goal isn't either/or but to start a real dialogue among Lasallians without borders, sharing the same journey.

Documenting the Journey
Formation for mission is a process. We want to celebrate this journey by marking the miles. At the end of each module you will be awarded a certificate of completion.
Congratulations...that's all there is to it.
